Kawula Muda, "Angel Baby" merupakan single solo pertama Troye Sivan pada 2021
Troye Sivan kembali muncul dengan lagu baru berjudul Angel Baby. Lagu ini dirilis bersamaan dengan visualiser karya sutradara Lucas Chemotti, yang diunggah di YouTube pada Jumat (10/09/2021).
Angel Baby merupakan single solo pertama Troye Sivan pada 2021. Single ini muncul setahun setelah ia merilis EP “In a Dream” pada Agustus 2020.
Single ini digambarkan sebagai lagu ballad yang cukup lambat, dengan vokal Sivan yang bersenandung di atas synth sinematik.
Melalui lagu ini, penyanyi sekaligus penulis lagu asal Australia itu mengungkapkan perasaan cinta mendalam terhadap orang yang ia cintai dan disebutnya sebagai Angel Baby. Ia menyanyikan lagu ballad yang ia kemas dalam lirik romantis, sarat akan kerinduan, pujian, serta perasaaan sayang.
Bintang berusia 26 tahun itu menulis lagu ini bersama dengan Jason Evigan, Michael Pollack, Sarah Hudson, dan JHart.
Awal tahun ini, Troye Sivan sempat berkolaborasi dengan Regard dan Tate McRae di lagu berjudul You, yang keluar April lalu.
Pada Desember 2020, Sivan juga bekerja sama dengan Kacey Musgraves dan Mark Ronson untuk remix lagu Easy, yang diambil dari EP “In a Dream”.
“In a Dream'” merupakan EP kelima Sivan, sekaligus tindak lanjut dari album studio keduanya “Bloom” (2018). Mini album tersebut mencakup enam trek yang terdiri dari Take Yourself Home, Easy, Stud, Rager Teenager!, In a Dream, serta versi interlude dari Could Cry Just Thinkin About You, yang versi full-nya baru dirilis bulan lalu.
